FAQ

How long does the hair need to be?

At least two weeks of hair growth. Think of a grain of rice! If the hair is too short the wax won’t properly grab onto the hair and you won’t get a clean wax.

Anything I should do to prepare for waxing?

Exfoliating the area two days before your appointment removes dead skin cells away to prepare for a cleaner wax. It can also be preventative against ingrown hairs.

Is waxing sanitary?

Absolutely! We follow to the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation. And NEVER double dip.

How often do I need to wax?

Every 4 weeks is ideal. Some clients experience slower or faster hair growth, so that can change the frequency.

What kind of wax do you use?

The highest quality wax available. For facial, underarm, and bikini services, we use hard wax. It is removed without a strip, and can go over the area multiple times without causing irritation. For larger areas, such as legs, we use a soft wax. However, if you have a preference either can be used!

How can I prevent ingrown hairs?

Exfoliating 2-3 days after a wax. A gentle exfoliation sloughs dead skin cells allowing the new hairs to naturally grow and not get caught beneath the skin. We can recommend a serum that will further prevent ingrown hairs.

How should I treat my newly waxed skin?

No sunbathing or working out for 24 hours after waxing. Do not use anything with fragrances as they may irritate your skin. After 2 days, you can begin to exfoliate (with scrubs or acids) 2-3 days a week.

Is there an age limit?

If you are under 18, please bring a parent/guardian on your first visit to consent.

Anything else I should know?

You should refrain from waxing if you are using Retin-A, Differin, Alpha or beta hydroxy acids for 10-14 days. If you have been on Accutane we will not wax for 6 months after last use. Please consult with a physician in regards to any medication and how it can affect with waxing.
